In a photography class at Reed, I was asked to create a semester project combining new and old aspects of photography and media production to create a unique work of art. I chose to embark on a mission to teach myself medium format film and apply the Prokudin-Gorsky technique of photo colorization to colorize black and white film taken on a Hasselblad photo. The process was difficult and I failed many times. My final photos exemplified the imperfections that come with using old forms of technology, but left me with an appreciation for the small imperfections--the personality created by old photographic techniques. Below are my final five photos, curated to embrace the imperfections of the technique.

I also experimented with using the Prokudin-Gorsky (tri-color) technique on digital photos and received colors not often produced by digital cameras. The three black and white photos were compiled to create a colorized digital image.
