Since I was 7 years old and borrowing the family camera to take photos of flowers in the rain, I've loved photography. In high school, I shot photos of friends and eventually created my own small business to shoot portraits of high school seniors in my town. At Reed, I began shooting events and headshots for the Admissions team.
In the past year, I've learned medium format film and fallen in love with the difficulty and reward of the finicky format. I'm now venturing into editorial work with the help of some artistic friends.
This year, I wrote my senior thesis on artificial intelligence image generation being considered art and how it affects definitions of art, creativity, and consciousness as it develops.
